Silent Auction and Gala '26

A wonderful group of members showed up to the Gala & Silent Auction, last Thursday, September 10, for a night to remember. After the Board and Officer reports, BGSA provided masks for all members, delicious mixed drinks, and bidding of all kinds. The wide range of items collected and donated by members, faculty, staff, and friends was extravagant. From lab coats to maps to bicycle classes to incredibly beautiful art and handmade jewelry, everyone went home with some very reasonably priced gems! Whether these items are a new clothing piece, sitting on your desk, or providing you with a fun new experience, think about the BGSA! We are proud to organize events that bring our community together.

It was great getting to know new members during the meeting. It was a night that started with lots of help from members with setup and ended with lots of members for help with cleanup. Together, we host these fun events to give everyone a chance to meet and catch up right before the semester gets into midterms. It was a good time to stop and appreciate the things that are going well. As graduate students, we always have a lot going on and often make mistakes, so it's important to focus on the good and the improvements, because we were all once bad at something we are really good at now.
Our Board and Officers updated us on their summer activities and future goals. They also announced the New BGSA Travel and Conference Award, available to all BGSA active members.
Last but not least, everyone took a group photo at the end and called it a night! We hope to see you at the next general members meeting!
